What is this page about?
I'm not really a programmer, i just like to mess around with code a bit... So here I will post my (now still small, but slowly growing) collection of DirtyHacks(TM) which do stuff for me, but are probably useless for most of you. Of course, whatever you do to your system, and whatever happens to your system because of my code changes,... it's not my fault, and I was never there, and you didn't fine the code here. It's basically a ItWorksForMe(TM) collection of patches.
Hacks:
Gentoo ebuilds
Gentoo ebuilds are (in a way) recipes, that tell portage (Gentoo's package manager) how to compile programs. There are alot of programs in the default portage ebuild set, but a few are missing, or are outdated. The ones I needed are here:
- miro - free video player and podcast downloader (from 2.5.3 included in main portage branch)
Gkrellm
Gkrellm is a 'sidebar' style of system monitors. It
can display CPU usage, memory usage, unread emails,.... It has a really nice Invisible theme which makes it look alot nicer then with the default theme.
Openwrt
OpenWRT is a Linux distribution for embedded devices, mostly network equipment (routers, WAP's, etc)
Pidgin
Pidgin is an open source multi-IM client. I use it alot, and it has some really nice features, and is easily extendable with plugins.
